Youth Support Hotline Launched

2023-08-11

Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, the Hon. Charles Griffith, conversing with Youth Commissioner, Melissa Forde, at the launch of the Youth Support Hotline.

Young persons in Barbados can now access mental health support following the launch of the 24 hour hotline on Friday, July 28th, 2023.

The execution of the hotline is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment and key stakeholders within the mental health and wellness community. The number for the hotline is 539-HELP or 539-4357.

One of the major objectives of the youth support hotline is to provide a safe space for those who feel they have nowhere else to turn and need support that they may not have immediately available to them.

Additional support is available to any caller who may require it. This support takes the form of qualified psychiatrists and other key mental health and wellness bodies in Barbados. If you or someone you know is in need of mental health support, please call the hotline to speak to one of the highly trained operators.
